People like to follow many fancy and expensive detox plans. In reality, there are many natural ingredients available right inside our kitchen. These can be mixed with fresh fruits and vegetables to get a good detox drink. In this post, we talk about the Best Homemade Detox Drinks.

Detoxification is the process of eliminating toxic substances from the body in a natural way. It also means that you are making some lifestyle changes like eating fruits or vegetable or abstaining from harmful goods etc. These lifestyle changes can be temporary or permanent in nature depending on how long you choose to adopt these changes.

Homemade Detox Drinks.

Some of the important things to be considered while going on a detoxification diet are listed below –

  • Always choose the right foods which will help to remove the toxins from the body. For e.g raw organic fruits and vegetables.
  • Try to have a wholesome diet which will clearly have what should be eaten and what should be avoided.
  • Try to include foods which help in detoxification and have more alkaline content like lemon, garlic, broccoli etc.
  • Simple fasting for 8 hours is a good way of detoxifying the body. Do take your doctors advice if you have health concerns.
  • Proper exercise and rest will help to release toxins from the body.
  • Try to breathe clean air in natural surroundings like parks, gardens etc. You can also have some indoor house plants which aid in purifying the air in the home.
  • Drink plenty of water and hydrate your body.

Some of the natural homemade detox drink recipes are listed below :

1. Cucumber and Lemon Detox Juice.

Cucumber is a coolant and helps in cooling the body. It builds immunity and cleanses out the toxins from the body. Take around 5-6 glasses of water and add 2 sliced cucumbers in the water. Add around 8-10 mint leaves and squeeze one full lemon in the water. Mix all these ingredients well and keep it in the fridge overnight.

Next morning you can start your day by drinking this drink. It is healthy and has a whole lot of benefits which helps to detoxify the body.

2. Orange and carrot detox juice.

Oranges are loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin C. Carrots are high in beta-carotene and fibers. A mixture of both these will result in a power-filled detox juice. Take equal quantity of cleaned oranges and sliced carrots. To this add a slice of ginger. Blend the ingredients well and serve it.

This juice helps in boosting the immune system, reducing bad cholesterol and also helps in digestion.

3. Cinnamon and Apple detox juice.

This is a unique combination drink. It is tasty and helps flush out the toxins from the body. Cinnamon helps to boost the metabolism and is also known for its weight loss properties. Take around 4 to 5 glasses of water, add thin slices of 2 apples, add a cinnamon stick or 1 tsp of cinnamon powder. Mix it well and keep it for around 2 hours before serving. You can refrigerate it for better taste and freshness.

4. Green vegetables detox drink.

This detox drink is one of the most healthy drinks made up of green vegetables like spinach, kale, parsley, celery etc. You can also add other vegetables to give it a different taste.

Add around 5-6 spinach leaves, 2-3 kale leaves, 2 celery stalks, 2 carrots sliced, one beet sliced, ½ onion, 3 cloves of garlic, half an inch of ginger, 1 full lemon juice and a dash of pepper powder and rock salt. Mix all the ingredients in a blender and blend it well. Your thick detox juice is ready. If you don’t like the taste of raw spinach and kale, you can first blanch it for a minute or so and then add it to the blender.

5. Pomegranate and beetroot juice.

The color of this juice itself makes it very appetizing. Mix equal quantities of pomegranate seeds and beet. For e.g  for a half cup of pomegranate seeds add a half cup of sliced beetroot. Blend it well. Your red detox drink is ready. It helps in removing toxins from the body and also increases immunity.

6. Mix fruit detox drink.

Fruits are loaded with minerals, vitamins, and fiber. A good mixed fruit drink will help your body get nourished as well as clean the toxins out from the body.

In order to make this drink add a half cup of sliced oranges, a banana, strawberries, and a pear. Add ½ cup of fresh yogurt, ½ inch of ginger, 1 tsp of lemon juice (optional). You can also add coconut water to make it more enriching. Blend all these ingredients well and refrigerate it for half an hour before serving.

7. Coconut water with Mint and lemon.

This is one of the easiest and highly refreshing drinks. All you need is to add half a tsp of lemon juice and fresh mint leaves to the coconut water. You can add a dash of honey for enhanced flavor. Have it chilled for a refreshing taste.

8. Organic green tea.

Having plain simple organic green tea will help in flushing out the toxins from the body. You can add a dash of organic turmeric powder to your green tea. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory agent that helps to reduce inflammation and absorb antioxidants into the body.

9. Apple and apple cider detox drink.

This drink is very easy to make and has great detox properties. Take around 2-3 sliced apples. Add 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp of lemon juice and a dash of honey. Blend it well and serve.

10. Blueberries and other fruits detox drink.

Blueberries have the most antioxidant properties. This fruit is loaded with antioxidants which helps in cleansing the body. Add half cup of blueberries to half cup of sliced pineapple and grapefruit. You can also add 1 tsp of lemon juice and a dash of honey. Blend it well and your thick detox drink is ready to be enjoyed.

As we have seen most of these fruits and vegetables are easily available in the local market. It is important to regularly include these detox drinks in your diet rather than having it once in a while. These detox drinks help to clean the digestive system and flush out the toxins from the body. It helps to keep the body, skin, and hair healthy.
