Skin care

Christmas falls in the winter season and your body is already reeling under the assault of winter. Your face, hands and feet are dry. It is extremely important to moisturise your skin regularly. You can also have a nice aroma oil bath like a lavender oil bath or an almond oil bath to maintain the moisture of your skin. Avoid the application of too much of soap on your body. Further avoid excessive washing of the face and body.

You can try the following face packs.

Jojoba skin pack which is useful for oily skin.

Ingredients –

2tsp Jojoba oil

2tbsp Buttermilk

Method –

Mix all the ingredients and form a good consistency. Apply it on your face and neck. After about 10 minutes, rinse it off with lukewarm water. This works extremely good for oily skin.

Wheat grass cleansing of oily skin.

Ingredients –

2tsp green gram flour

2tbsp wheat grass paste

1tbsp honey

1tbsp water

Method –

Mix all the ingredients together to form a paste. Apply this across the face and neck. After about 10 minutes, wash off with lukewarm water.

Lip care

Chapped and dry lips are the first signs of winter. Increase the intake of vitamin B foods like sprouts, yoghurt, eatables, oats etc.

Pumpkin lip balm

Ingredients –

2tsp pumpkin paste

1tsp natural almond oil

2tsp milk

 Method –

Mix all the ingredients and form a paste. Store this in a glass bottle in the fridge. It will last for around 4 – 5 days. Apply it regularly for soft, red lips.

Hair care

Sesame oil massage

Ingredients –

¼cup sesame oil

1tsp coconut milk

Method –

Mix all the ingredients and massage it gently into the scalp and across your hair. Tie it in a bun and allow it to soak in for about ½ hour. You can use any good shampoo or conditioner, depending upon your type of hair and wash it off.

In order to address the issue of dandruff, you can use the following beetroot hair pack.

Ingredients –

¼cup of beetroot juice

Half cup of thick coconut milk

¼cup of neem (margosa) juice

1tsp coconut oil

Method –

Mix all the ingredients and massage it into the scalp. Leave it for around ½ hour and then wash it with a good shampoo and conditioner.

Keep your makeup updated with all the appropriate eye shadows, lipsticks, foundation and other accessories.

Hair style

Decide on your hair style well in advance. You can do simple hair do’s or even try some elaborate styling like straightening, colouring, or perming your hair.

Proper diet

Ensure that you have a nutritious and healthy diet. This will help in internal cleansing of your body system. You will look fresh and glowing. Hydrate your body with water and other Vegetable juices.

Select a proper outfit

You can buy or select your outfit depending upon your style choice and comfort.
