Talking in front of a mirror or giving speeches or presentations in front of a mirror helps a person become more confident.

It is important to let your voice and ideas be heard. Once you start speaking and engaging with others, you will overcome your shyness and start becoming bolder in sharing your ideas.

  1. Act confidently and engage with others.

Self-confidence comes over a period of time when you keep learning, practising and mastering your area. When you start engaging with people, you will develop a good amount of self-confidence which will help you in overcoming shyness and anxiety.

Remember not everyone is going to like and encourage you.  It is important for you to believe in yourself and do things that make you happy. As you start getting more andmore confident, you will stop being anxious.

  1. Know your strengths and be positive about them.

All of us have strengths and weaknesses. It is time to build upon your strengths. If you are good at singing, dancing or any other activity then try to showcase the same in front of your family and friends. Our loved ones and family members will surely encourage and motivate us to go further. Once you start getting positive feedback, it is good to start being confident and bold in front of others.

The world is full of all kinds of people. In life, you will find more negative people than positive people. Whenever you receive any critical or negative feedback, do not dwell on it and make it a focal point in your life. Move ahead and do not let one bad moment spoil your entire day or years ahead. Avoid being with sarcastic and negative mindset people.

  1. Be adventurous and try new things in life.

Most of the time when you are shy, you do not want to get out of your comfort zone and try out new things. This makes you more self-conscious. One of the main things to overcome shyness is to not let anxiety, fear of failure or rejection get in your way of doing things.

It would be good if you could take the initiative to join a hobby class or any other area of your interest. When you take on new things, you are making an attempt to overcome fear and anxiety. 

  1. Take small steps to overcome your assumptions.

Most of the time our assumptions about many situations in life are wrong. Therefore it is time to challenge your assumptions and ask questions about the situation such as – How else can you look at this situation? Look at the different options available as possible solutions etc. Once you start looking carefully at the situation, you are bound to get a different perspective.

Take small steps towards overcoming these challenges, which will give you boldness and self-confidence. Once you have taken this small steps, you will be able to see things realistically rather than based on assumptions.

  1. Think and make a list of things that make you feel shy or anxious.

Think and make a list of things that worry you or make you feel anxious and shy. Take one item at a time and think over it deeply and find out ways to eliminate the fear of that particular thing. Remember your shyness should not keep you away from doing things that give you happiness and satisfaction.
