We all want to be happy and successful in life. In today’s busy life, we all struggle to stay happy. We are always in a rush to do things on schedule and when we are unable to complete them, we are unhappy and disheartened. Many people feel that it is an individual’s nature which helps them to stay happy, anxious, sad or depressed. In this post, we show you how to Train Your Brain To Be Happy.

Modern research has indicated that happiness depends upon the way your brain thinks. Therefore it is important to make your brain think positive thoughts, which will help you to stay happy. Our brain is more sensitive to negative or unpleasant news. In order to overcome this negativity, it is important to train your mind with positive thinking exercises.

Research has indicated that when we begin to think positively, we feel more positive and therefore our actions are also positive. Therefore it is important to practice positive thinking and make it a habit in order to see happiness and success in life.

Train Your Brain To Be Happy

Today, we will give you 8 exercises to train your brain to be happy.

1. Try and enjoy the present.

Every day we will come across many different moments, some good, some bad and some happy ones. We need to consciously enjoy and appreciate the happy moments. These happy moments may be very small things that can bring joy in your life. For e.g., make an effort to watch the early morning sunrise, the chirping of the birds, go for a nature walk, hug your child before they go to school. Consciously appreciating these small things will help you to train your brain to think positively.

2. Think to solve the problem rather than dwelling on the negativity.

We often find ourselves in situations that are stressful and unhappy. In such situations, it is important to consciously not dwell and encourage negative and critical thoughts. Instead, try and find a solution to the problem or think of ways how you can overcome the challenging situations.

Sometimes, when we are in a challenging situation, we are bound to lose our composure. At these times try and make an effort to think and make a rational decision. Thinking for resolution helps the brain to focus on the solution rather than the problem.

If you are the complaining type of person who always complains or overthinks about any problem, then it is time you changed your approach and try to be more productive by taking steps to think positively.

3. Control your emotions and handle them appropriately.

Almost every one of has seen the result of making a wrong decision, when you are overly emotional. It is important to control and balance our emotions. Daily there will be many moments when you will be challenged to lose your cool and think negatively. In such situations, make a conscious choice and habit to think rationally before speaking or taking any decision.

When you think rationally, you are thinking about the pros and cons of your choices and decisions. This helps you in controlling your emotions and thinking positively.

4. Have your own “prayer time” and “my time” in your daily schedule.

When you have a strong faith and belief in God, you will always be grateful and thankful for the things you are blessed with. Daily have your own prayer time with God. In my case reading Bible verses encourages me to deepen my faith and understand Gods unconditional love and grace.

Once you spend some time alone with God in prayer and reading his Word then you are bound to be filled with positivity. This habit will help your brain to think positive thoughts and be happy.

5. Practice gratitude and thankfulness.

Research has clearly indicated that when your practice gratitude, thankfulness, do random acts of kindness or volunteering etc., it has lead to increasing the happy hormones in your brain. People who are more grateful and thankful, lead a much happier life than others. Writing a gratitude journal will consciously make you think of all the positive things in your life thereby making you happier.

Further many universities and colleges encourage their students to do random acts of kindness. People who do random acts of kindness are much happier and healthier than others. So this week, make an effort to pay for a good meal for a homeless person or the poor or bring groceries for an elderly neighbor or help a single mom by babysitting the children. There are so many ways by which you can spread kindness and be happier.

6. Smile and make others smile.

A smile is one of most contagious things. It makes you as well as the other person happy. Smile triggers happiness in the brain as well as in the body. Research has also indicated that those who smile more are more positive and happy in their personal life.

7. Listen to some soothing music.

Music is a great source of relaxation and joy. You can calm your mind by listening to some good music. Good music helps you to feel happy and better. It increases your sense of well-being thereby also helping your brain to be happy.

8. Simplify and de-clutter your life.

It is important to understand that you are able to make better decisions when you are better organized. Many of us are overtly dependent on technology and are addicted to it. It time that you simplify your life by removing the unwanted and unnecessary things. Try and have more open space in your house, remove all the old things, toys, clothes etc. When you simplify your life, you will have a sense of happiness.

These are some of the ways that you can follow consciously in order to be happy. When you consciously decide to encourage positive thoughts, you will see a positive transformation in your life.
