  • Drink hot drinks

It is important to drink hot soups, broths or herbal teas as they give relief to the throat and nasal congestion.

  • Exercise daily

Daily exercise increases the metabolism and the heart pumping rate. It helps to boost the body’s natural virus-killing cells. Exercise builds the immune system. Research has indicated that those who exercise daily are less likely to catch a virus as compared to those who do not exercise.

  • Avoid getting wet or cold

One of the ways of catching a cold is when you get wet. The only other way you can get a cold or flu is when you are exposed to the virus that causes it. But if you are wet for a long period of time, then it causes the blood vessels in the nose to tighten up, which in turn hinders the body’s defenses against a virus attack. Hence you should try and avoid getting wet or cold.
